From Sioux Center Days Archives
Once upon a time, in a beautiful town named Sue Senter*, there were two beautiful sisters Zkarissa* and Zlauralee* who decided to go on a road trip to visit their father. They began the long journey east to Zchicago*. The older and much wiser sister Zkarissa gave the firm advice to her sister at the wheel: "Stay on the same road. Never exit, or else...!" And so that's what the younger sister did.
She drove through rolling zhills and over blue-bellied cricks. Upon reaching a town named "Zlaura, Zillinois" both exclaimed: "I think this is what they call a 'scenic route'!!" True to their word, they had. The younger and much blonder sister had, in fact, stayed on the same road. But their "scenic route" had terrifyingly turned into a "2-hour blasted detour" and both zsisters were sorely dismayed.
Upon returning to ZI-80 they once again continued their trek eastward. At the outskirts of Zchicago the older, and less blonde more brunette sister, Zkarissa, decided it was her turn to drive. Feeling a little baffled and with a bruised ego, the younger complied. Exits were taken correctly and the trip became blissful once again.
Until exit Z160, which was taken instead of exit Z161.
The sisters became engrossed in a heated discussion where much cursing and uttering of distasteful things occurred. The older felt hurt, the younger felt lost. And they were lost. Driving in circles as the cursing amplified.
But that's not quite where the story ends. Although not as exciting, the two made it zhome alive. And well. And just a little zmiffed at each other.
And their father was happy to see them.
The Zend.

I think we once made that same 2 hour detour mistake on our way home from Dordt for Christmas break in the middle of the night!
